Freelance | Graphic Designer, 12/2001 to present

Clients include Beth Singer Design, Accelerant Studios, the U.S. Naval Academy, Vistronix, Inc., and ESI. Created newsletters, books, brochures, folders, magazine ads, flyers, logos, and flash animations. Recently completed designing and producing a 600 page, hard cover, 40th reunion yearbook for the U.S. Naval Academy Alumni Association.

Educational Services, Inc. | Graphic Designer, 08/2002 to 09/2006

Provided print and web design for government clients, primarily the U.S. Department of Education and National Institutes of Health (NIH). Design marketing materials, newsletters, brochures, web sites, environmental signage, logos, reports, proposals training materials, direct mail, meeting materials, and information graphics. Designed and produced weekly planner for NIH, short turnaround project requiring close work with editors and client. Implemented process for importing text in XML format from databases into InDesign to automate formatting of regular repeated large documents, saving time and improving quality assurance.

Vistronix, Inc. | Graphic Designer, 02/2000 to 12/2001

Provided print and web design to Vistronix Consulting: the new Internet division of Vistronix. Redesigned corporate Web Site and intranet. Developed collateral materials (print, web, and flash), proposals, white papers, presentations, newspaper ads, and trade show booths.

The Scientific Consulting Group | Graphic Designer, 03/1998 to 02/2000

Provided all graphic support for small environmental and healthcare consulting firm, including manuals, reports, training materials, meeting support themes (posters, presentations, name tags, table tents, booklets), web site development, proposals, brochures, and other documentation.

Price Waterhouse | Graphic Designer, 09/1992 to 03/1998

  • Design Coordinator, Falls Church/DC Proposal and Presentation Center (PPC), 5/1994 to 3/1998. Supervised four designers in two offices supporting more than 800 staff. Produced proposals, presentations, posters, diagrams, newsletters, brochures, and other design products. Served on the PPC Standards and Technical Support committees of the PPC national leadership group.
  • Team Leader/Graphic Designer, Art Services and Production (ASAP), 11/1994 to 04/1997. Supervised four designers and worked on proposals, training materials, presentations, posters, brochures, web design, and other services as part of a team of 13 designers in PW Government Services. Responsible for technical aspects of ASAP.
  • Graphic Designer, Contract Support, 09/1992 to 10/1994. Provided desktop publishing support, created presentations, and provided general graphic support. Created a 1,200 page business reengineering course with multiple versions for a large government agency. Member of the Document Standards Group.

Thompson & Company | Research Assistant, 1989 to 1992

Research assistant at Thompson & Company, a lobbying firm. Responsible for desktop publishing services, including newsletters, reports, and publishing white papers.
